Sean Penn to Direct Charlize Theron in ‘The Last Face’
Academy Award winning actor Sean Penn (‘Mystic River’, ‘Milk’) will be directing a feature film set in war-torn Africa. The cast of the romance includes Charlize Theron, Javier Bardem and Adele Exarchopoulos, star of Palme D’Or winner ‘Blue is the Warmest Colour.’ Theron will play a relief worker while Bardem has been cast as a doctor in Africa who has to choose between love and his work. Exarchopoulos will play a journalist.

Penn will direct a script written by Erin Dignam. River Road chief Bill Pohlad is understood to be financing the film. Pohlad previously worked with Penn on the film ‘Into the Wild’, which Penn directed, and on ‘Tree of Life’. Bill Gerber and Matt Palmiere are understood to be producing the film.

GOT Creators to Adapt ‘Dirty White Boys’ for Feature Film
The creators of ‘Game of Thrones’, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, will be writing, directing and producing an adaptation of Stephen Hunter’s novel ‘Dirty White Boys’. They have made a deal to produce the adaptation with 20th Century Fox, which will see the pair collaborating on their first project as co-directors, and their first project since ‘GOT’. The original novel of ‘Dirty white Boys’ follows three escaped convicts and the lawman who is trying to capture them.

There have been no specific dates given for production yet as Benioff and Weiss are very busy with ‘GOT’, which HBO has just renewed for a fifth and sixth season (Read the full story here). The fourth season premiered to record ratings last weekend, and the creators are still in post-production on this season’s last episodes.

‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ Trailer
A new trailer has been released for ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’, the sequel to the 2010 family animation feature. The original film saw the island of Berk learning to live with and love the dragons that they once battled against. It was Dreamworks Animations’ highest grossing film in the American and Canadian box offices, aside from the Shrek films.

The sequel will again revolve around Hiccup (Jay Baruchel), as he explores new dragon communities and learns more about his mother, voiced by Cate Blanchett, and about incoming threats to the dragon world. The film will also see the return of Gerard Butler, Jonah Hill, Kirsten Wiig, America Ferrera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Craig Ferguson as they lend their voices to the cast again. ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ is set for a release in Irish theatres on 4th July 2014.
