‘Limp.’ has been selected for the Seattle True Independent Film Festival. The experimental horror feature sees a lonely man called Mr. Grot become obsessed with a co-worker to the point that he kills her and continues a relationship with the woman’s corpse. It is written and directed by Shaun Ryan (‘Jack and Ralph Plan a Murder’) and was produced through his indie production company Crooked Creations.
The Seattle True Independent Film Festival is dedicated to the exhibition of independent, underground, experimental and zero budget films. The festival aims to provide educational opportunities as well as debate and discussion though the screening of a diverse selection of films. It also provides a space where local filmmakers, visiting filmmakers and the public are free to network.
Kevin Minogue and Miriam NicCaba were producers on ‘Limp.’, which premiered at Indiecork last October. Minogue was also cinematographer and editor on the project, editing with Ryan.
The cast includes Eoin Quinn (‘It’s a Wonderful Death’) as Mr. Grott, Anne Gill (‘Quirke’) as his victim, Jack Dean-Shepherd, Laura Canavan Hayes, Sinéad O’ Rourke and Shane Lennon. Ryan and Quinn will be attending the festival in Seattle.
‘Made in Belfast’ is another Irish feature that will be screened at the independent festival. Paul Kennedy’s directorial debut sees Jack Kelly (Ciarán McMenamin – ‘Jump’), a Northern Irish novelist living in Paris, return home to try to make things right with his friends and family after exposing their private lives in a novel. ‘Made in Belfast’ recently secured a sales agent in The Little Film Company, the full story of which can be read here.
‘Made in Belfast’ in scheduled to screen on Monday May 5 at 6pm while ‘Limp.’ will screen at 6pm on Thursday May 8. Both screenings will take place in the Grand Illusion Cinema.
