‘Got Talent’ Sets Record for Most Successful TV Format
Simon Cowell’s ‘Got Talent’ franchise has officially entered the Guinness Book of World Record’s as the globe’s most successful reality TV format. First launched as ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ in 2007, the format has subsequently been adapted for broadcast in 58 countries, including Iceland and Brazil most recently.

‘Got Talent’ has versions across Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle-East, Africa and the Americas. The format pushed ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, another British format, into second place as holder of the highest number of adaptations.

Cowell, who created the show and sits on the judging panel of the British series, stated “I am very proud that ‘Got Talent’ is a homegrown British show. We owe its success to a group of very talented producers all over the world who gave made this happen. And of course amazing talent.”

Trailer for ‘The Last Impresario’
A trailer on a documentary based on the producer Michael White, “the most famous person you’ve never heard of”, has been released. White was the man behind the controversial productions of ‘Oh! Calcutta!’ and ‘The Rocky Horrow Picture Show’, on both stage and screen’, and was also behind ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail.’

The film features interviews with many of his friends, including Kate Moss, Anna Wintour, Naomi Watts and John Cleese. Directed by Gracie Otto, ‘The Last Impresario’ premiered at the London Film Festival and will be pitched to sellers by sales group Dogwoof at the upcoming MIPTC international TV market.

Mickey Rooney Passes Away
Legendary actor Mickey Rooney has died at the age of 93, surrounded by family in his home in LA. Rooney was nominated for four actors and received two special Academy Awards over his career. Landing his first role at the age of six, he starred in a number of ‘Mickey’ movies that stretched into the 1930s.

Rooney also starred alongside Judy Garland in a series of musicals, and appeared in four TV series. He starred in over 300 films and starred alongside Ann Miller, Eva Gardner, Margaret O’Brien, Audrey Hepburn, Nathan Lane, Ben Stiller, and Amy Adams over his long, illustrious career.

Rooney is survived by his wife, Jan Chamberlin, and eight children. His son, Tim Rooney, predeceased him in 2006.
