Lenny Abrahamson among Guest Tutors at Coláiste Dhúlaigh
21 Mar 2014 : Deirdre Molumby
Lenny Abrahamson is one of the many guest tutors who have shared their expertise with students on the new BA degree in Film and Video Production in Coláiste Dhúlaigh College of Further Education.

Lenny gave the undergraduates a master class on his own work and methods as well as feedback on their promos prior to the commencement of principal photography for their graduating projects. It has been a year packed with intense, exciting work and workshops delivered by many guest tutors from the Irish film and media industry.

The students have also enjoyed the privilege of guest classes and workshops from the following award-winning professionals: producer Conor Barry, director and producer Vanessa Gildea, production designer Eleanor Wood, sound recordist and mixer Dan Birch, script editor Eilis Kent, producer and online media expert James Kelly, and film and web drama producer Marie Caffrey, with more industry experts lined up.

For many years, Coláiste Dhúlaigh has offered its graduating students access to the final year of degree programmes in film and media in universities such as University of Wolverhampton. This is the first year in which the college is offering film and media students the opportunity to undertake the final year of a BA degree in Film and Video Production on the college’s own Coolock Campus.

This wonderful opportunity is preceded by a number of successful media courses such as Animation, Communication and Media Production, Film Production and Journalism. Teaching staff on these courses and the degree program include tutors with excellent industry experience such as director and producer Leticia Agudo, director and producer Frank Berry and screenwriter Robert J Quinn.

BA degree students have now begun production of their graduating films and documentaries. These productions will be completed in May and presented to the public shortly afterwards.
