Short film 'Indelible' has received the award named in honour of director John Moore, presented on Thursday 31st Oct, following the graduation ceremony for the School of Informatics & Creative Arts in DkIT.

This annual award is given to the best short film made by students on the 3rd or 4th year of the BA & BA (Hons) in Video & Film Production, as chosen and announced by Dundalk director John Moore, with the possibility of an internship on one of Moore’s future films.

John Moore’s directing credits include ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’, ‘Behind Enemy Lines’, ‘Flight of the Phoenix’ and the 2006 remake of ‘The Omen’.

He is currently in pre-production on ‘The Englishman’ about a special air service soldier who leads a mission to get civilians to safety during a military coup in Sierra Leone.

’Indelible’ is a short film which was written and directed by Joske Slabbers and Catherine McGrath. It was produced by Adam McElligott.

The film stars Leah Rossiter and Ceara Daly-Carney who are 3rd year students on the BA in Performing Arts in DkIT.

'Indelible' centres around a young woman who has woken up with no idea of what has happened the previous night. Living in a society in which people have become almost synonymous with their edited online profiles, she decides to access her internal memory and find out.

The short film was shot on location in Dundalk over four days last April. The film will now be entered into national festivals.

In addition, ‘Kinds of Blue’, a short documentary also created by Joske Slabbers and Catherine McGrath was selected for the Best Short Documentary Competition at Clones Film Festival on Sunday the 27th of October.

This short also won the Next Generation Short Documentary Competition at this year's Guth Gafa International Documentary Festival in Donegal.
