‘Trampoline’, a Nenagh-shot feature film by Tom Ryan about an English teacher in her 20’s, is currently in post-production with a view to being submitted to film festivals later this year.
The film, which was written by Mr Ryan and produced by Claire Gormley, tells the story of Angie Corbett who returns to her hometown of Nenagh to work at her local school, while dealing with the fallout of her father leaving her family.
Mr Ryan described it a contemporary drama which deals with relevant issues that many people in their mid-twenties are forced to deal with after finishing college.
Aoife Spratt stars in the lead role as Angie, alongside Dublin-based actors Audrey Hamilton, Maggie Donovan, Eddie Murphy and Niamh Algar.
The Nenagh Players, the local theatre group, also feature strongly - including Margaret Walshe, Mike McMahon, Stuart Andrew and Tadhg Hogan Reddy.
‘Trampoline’ was independently financed through contributions by local Nenagh businesses and the North Tipperary Arts Council.
Mr Ryan previously worked as a camera trainee in New York with cinematographer Andrij Parekh (‘Half Nelson’, ‘Blue Valentine’) and on the films 'Dark Horse' by Todd Solondz and 'Shame' by Steve McQueen.
Editing the feature is Kevin Minogue, while Cian O Brien, who served as sound recordist on the shoot, is composing all original music for the film’s score.
Principal photography on the shoot began on 26th October last year and wrapped on 22nd February.
