Fintan McKeown joins ‘Game of Thrones’

Irish actor Fintan McKeown has reportedly joined the cast for the second season of the Emmy-nominated series ‘Game of Thrones’.
McKeown will play Ser Amory Lorch in the fantasy drama series, a landed knight of House Lorch, who faithfully serves Tywin Lannister.

He has previously appeared in the role of Michael Sullivan in TV series ‘Star Trek: Voyager’, ‘Merlin’ and Kirk Jones’ feature ‘Waking Ned’.

McKeown is the latest addition to the cast of the second series. He will join other new cast member including IFTA winning actor Michael McElhatton (Spin the Bottle, Intermission), Liam Cunningham (Camelot) Stephen Dillane (The Hours), Natalie Dormer (The Tudors) , Robert Pugh (Torchwood) and Carice van Houten (Black Book).

Several directors are also reported to be on board to helm episodes for the second series. Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers), David Nutter (The Pacific), Alik Sakharov (Rubicon) and David Petrarca (Boardwalk Empire) will all be taking on one episode each.

The second series of the HBO epic fantasy began filming in Northern Ireland in late July. ‘Game of Thrones’ received funding from Northern Ireland Screen supported by Invest NI and part funded by the European Development Fund.
