Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke, Christopher Walken and Colin Farrell have been cast in ‘In Bruges’ Irish writer/director Martin McDonagh’s latest feature ‘Seven Psychopaths’.
Written and to be directed by McDonagh, ‘Seven Psychopaths’ sees Farrell star as a screenwriter struggling with a script who hooks up with eccentric friends, Walken & Rockwell, who run a dog kidnapping outfit. Things take a turn for the worst when the trio mess with the furry friend of a gangster Mickey Rourke.
‘In Bruges’ production company Hanway Films are selling the project at the Cannes Film Festival where its announcement has caused major buzz on the Croisette given the award winning and Oscar nominated success of the team’s previous feature ‘In Bruges’ in 2008.
Producers are Blueprint Pictures' Graham Broadbent (In Bruges, Becoming Jane) and Pete Czernin (In Bruges) plus Annapurna's Megan Ellison (True Grit) with Film4 also supporting.
Further production details are TBC.
