Liam O’Mochain's 'Lost & Found' Set for National Release – Friday, July 13th
29 Jun 2018 : Nathan Griffin
A national release date of Friday, July 13th has been confirmed for Liam O’Mochain’s comedy drama ‘Lost & Found’.

‘Lost & Found’ is a feature film with seven interconnecting stories set in and around a lost & found office of an Irish train station.  All segments are inspired by true stories, share a theme of something lost or found, and characters that come in and out of each other’s lives.  It was filmed over 5 years and completed in May 2017.  Speaking about the filming experience, O Mochain said: “The cast, crew and post team were great to work with. They were very dedicated to the film and kept coming back every year to work on the next segment

Earlier this summer, ‘Lost & Found’ picked up the ‘Best Foreign Film’ award at the Arizona International Film Festival. This followed successful festival screenings at Dingle Film Festival, IndieCork and a sold-out world premiere at the 2017 Galway Film Fleadh where Donald Clarke in The Irish Times called it one of “the best films from this year’s Galway Film Fleadh” and Scott Larson from scottmovies.com said the film was ‘reminiscent of Kevin Smith’s ‘Clerks’ touching, funny and thoughtful”.

Written and Directed by Liam O Mochain, the film follows the seven intertwining stories of: Daniel; who tries desperately to hold onto his newly acquired job in the lost & found office, Eddie; who spends most days in the train station begging, every day he has a different story, which one is his?, Gabriel; who plans to surprise his girlfriend by proposing up in the air, but airport security has other plans for him,  A Grandmother; who asks her grandson to retrieve a mysterious bracelet that she buried as a child in the garden of her childhood home in Poland, Moya; who visits a funeral home and signs the book of condolences not realising the consequences of signing it,  Paudge; a cranky pub owner keeps redecorating his bar hoping to attract customers, but no matter how many grand openings he has the locals stay away, Sile; who has set a date for her wedding, not having a groom, won’t stop her.

Speaking about the national release, Writer/Director Liam Ó Mochain told IFTN:

"I am really looking forward to audiences all over Ireland seeing the film and hopefully engaging with it."

The ensemble cast includes: Norma Sheahan ( ‘Moone Boy’, ‘Damo & Ivor’, ‘Handsome Devil’), Liam Carney ( ‘Red Rock’, ’Outlander’, ‘Gangs of New York’), Aoibhin Garrihy (‘The Fall’), Diarmuid Noyes (‘Borgia’, ‘Killing Bono’), Anthony Morris (‘Games of Thrones’, ‘Redemption’), Seamus Hughes (‘Jimmy’s Hall’, ‘Dominion Creek’), Olga Wehrly (‘Song of Granite’),  Brendan Conroy (‘Vikings’, ‘The General’), Barbara Adair (‘Ripper Street’, ‘Grabbers’), Daniel Costelloe (‘Albert Nobbs’, ‘The Magdalene Sisters’), Sean Flanagan (Comedy trio’ Foil, Arm & Hog’, ‘BallyKissAngel’), Fionnuala Flatherty ( ‘Out of Innocence’), Liam O Mochain (‘Covet’,‘WC’), Tom O Suilleabhan (‘Maze’, ‘Fifty Dead Men Walking’) & Mary McEvoy (‘Nowhere Fast’,‘Glenroe’).
