Cork Film Festival Documentary Day: Friday November 18th

Keynote Speaker Kim Longinotto
In partnership with the Irish Film Board, the festival which runs from November 11th-20th also includes an industry day dedicated especially to showcasing high quality Irish and international documentary cinema.

The landscape in which projects are conceived of, developed and distributed will be discussed by a panel of industry leaders to include distributers, filmmakers, programmers, producers and sales professionals.

The event is designed for directors, producers and writers actively working in the documentary community and industry to develop their craft through case studies, informative discussion, networking and talks.

Keynote speaker Kim Longinotto, whose work has been recognised by BAFTA, Cannes and Sundance to name a few, has helmed challenging documentary titles such as ‘Dreamcatcher’ (2015), ‘Salma’ (2013) and ‘Pink Saris’ (2010).

She will be joined by the following speakers on the day:

  • Sarafina DiFelice (Associate Director of Programming, Hot Docs)
  • Luke W Moody (Director of Film Programming, Sheffield Doc/Fest)
  • Laure Bonville (Documentary programmer, BFI London Film Festival)
  • Oli Harbottle (Head of Distribution, Dogwoof)
  • Mike Lerner (prod./dir., Roast Beef Productions, The Russian Woodpecker, Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer)
  • Hamish Moseley (Head of Distribution, Altitude Films)
  • Rich Warren (Director, Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival)
  • Anna Berthollet (Festivals & Non-Theatrical Sales Coordinator, Taskovski Films)
  • Patrick O’Neill (CEO, Wildcard Distribution)
  • Maya Zinshtein (dir., Forever Pure)
  • Alan Maher (CEO / Producer, Roads Entertainment)

DocDay takes place on Friday, November 18th from 11:00-17:00 in the River Lee Hotel, Western Road, Cork City. Tickets are priced at €30.
