Netflix has confirmed that principle production is officially underway in Ireland on Lindsay Lohan’s upcoming romantic comedy Irish Wish.
The streaming giant confirmed that Lohan was on location in Ireland after reports emerged that the production team were seeking a body double for the Mean Girls star.
Irish Wish is part of Lohan’s two-picture creative partnership with Netflix, which will also see Lohan’s upcoming holiday film Falling for Christmas release this November.
The film follows Maddie (Lohan), who puts her feelings aside to be a bridesmaid at a wedding in Ireland when the love of her life gets engaged to her best-friend. Days before the pair are set to marry, Maddie makes a spontaneous wish for true love, only to wake up as the bride-to-be. With her dream seeming to come true, Maddie soon realizes that her real soulmate is someone else entirely.
The film is directed by Janeen Damian (Falling for Christmas, High Strung Free Dance), produced by MPCA’s Brad Krevoy; Riviera Films’ Michael Damian, and executive produced by Amanda Phillips, Kirsten Hansen, Jimmy Townsend, Vince Balzano.
The script is written by Kirsten Hansen, Ron Oliver, Janeen Damian, and Michael Damian. MPCA has produced a number of Netflix films including Falling for Christmas, A Christmas Prince films, The Princess Switch films, and Operation Christmas Drop.
