The deadline for applications to the Clones Film Festival’s 2018 Film Commission is fast approaching – June 22nd.
In association with Clones Credit Union, Clones Film Festival is this year looking to further develop its support for film production in the town of Clones, and County Monaghan, by commissioning an original short film, shot in Clones and the surrounding areas in 2018.
Under this commission by Clones Film Festival, an award of €4,000 will be made towards the cost of the film production; scripting, shooting, editing, and screening. The Short Film will then be one of the highlights of this year’s festival, taking centre stage on the closing night of Clones Film Festival.
Short film, short documentary, and short animation will all be considered.
Applications are invited for original script ideas from filmmakers at all stages of their development.
The selected filmmaker & team will be required to:
Produce a locally shot short; film, documentary, or animation, with a minimum run time of 5 minutes, and no longer than 30 minutes.
Include local street scenes or iconic historic location shots within Clones Town, or the locality. At least two from:
- Round Tower,
- Celtic Cross,
- Old Abbey,
- The Diamond
- Fermanagh Street,
- St.Tiarnach’s Park,
- Canal Stores,
- Butteryard,
- Churches.
- Clones Town Name Road Signs
- Other Easily Recognizable Clones Landmarks will be considered
