Call for Proposals: €30,000 Budget for Irish Famine Short Film Scheme
2017-04-25 9:00:00 : Katie McNeice
Ireland’s Great Hunger Museum at Quinnipiac University is inviting short film submissions ranging from twelve to fifteen minutes in length on the topic of the Irish famine for young audiences, aged between ten and thirteen.

The deadline for submissions is June 9th 2017, while projects must be delivered by February next year. Both established and emerging filmmakers with at least one completed project are eligible to apply.

The film is intended for both classroom and individual use, will be widely promoted and distributed via online platforms, and supported by specially prepared educational materials. It should also be able to engage Irish and international audiences.

Films may be live action, animated or employ a mixture of genres, though all submissions should be grounded in solid scholarship on the famine and must include reference to the collection held at Ireland’s Great Hunger Museum, Quinnipiac University.
