‘First Dates Ireland’ Returns
17 Jan 2017 : Laura Brennan
'First Dates Ireland' RTÉ 2 Thursday 19th January at 9.30pm
The hit dating show ‘First Dates Ireland’ is back with the new series starting on RTÉ 2 on Thursday the 19th January at 9.30pm.

The most romantic restaurant in town opens its doors for 2017. Following the success of last year’s series, ‘First Dates Ireland’ is set to be bigger and better with 12 episodes due to air this time around. The first series of the show generated an average audience of 278,000 viewers and proved particularly popular amongst women 15-34 years averaging a 36% share.

The new series sees the return of Maître D’ extraordinaire Mateo Saina and his trusty colleagues: barman Ethan Miles and waitress Alice Marr once again playing Cupid as daters meet face-to-face for the first time.

This year viewers can look forward to more fun and frolics from the ‘First Dates Ireland’ restaurant including cousins double dating, more bathroom chats and it wouldn’t be Ireland if we didn’t have a couple of daters that didn’t recognise each other from previous encounters.

‘First Dates Ireland’  will also be back on RTÉ Player, available to watch live and on-demand along with ‘First Dates Ireland Extras’ which will feature reactions from some famous faces including Roz Purcell, Stefanie Preissner and George Mason from ‘Home and Away’ available straight after each episode airs.  It will also feature the most popular date of each episode.

Series 1 of ‘First Dates Ireland’ proved hugely popular on RTÉ Player and was the second most popular entertainment programme on RTÉ Player in 2016 with over half a million streams (556,760) including ‘First Dates Ireland Extras’ with close to 60,000 streams. Coco television are the production company behind the making of both series one and two.

‘First Dates Ireland’ returns to RTÉ 2 Thursday 19th January at 9.30pm
