Low budget Irish horror film ‘Revenant’, co-written and co-produced by Sean Smith and Lauren Murphy, wrapped filming today after an eleven day shoot that took in locations in Cavan and Fermanagh.
Mr Smith’s feature-length directorial debut follows a TV documentary crew as they investigate the mysterious death of a child 30 years ago, suspected to be the work of a young man named Neil Brady with a penchant for the occult.
When a young family become terrorised in their home by an invisible force, the crew track down Brady, now working as a faith healer, and coerce him into helping with their investigation.
A Phantom Limb production, ‘Revenant’ was filmed in Belturbet and Redhills, in Cavan, and Aghalane and Enniskillen, in Fermanagh, over three four-day weekends to accommodate cast and crew.
Cavan actors which feature include Tommy Sharkey, Kim McCafferty and Deirdre O'Reilly, in a project co-funded by Cavan Arts and the International Fund for Ireland.
Other cast and crew members include Pat Deery, Maura McGuinness, Paul Marron and Brenda Swift.
Mr Smith and Ms Murphy previously collaborated on short horror film ‘The Gloaming’ about a father and son working the land during the Great Famine who are confronted by an ancient evil.
