« Go back
Derry, 1984. Goretti, a fifteen year old Catholic schoolgirl, lives a normal life: living at home with her family, goes to school, to the local disco. At the disco, she encounters Ciaran, a boy she likes but who is initially too shy to talk to her. Days later, however, Ciaran appears attending an extra-curricular Irish class which Goretti attends with her friend Dinky. When the class ends Ciaran walks Goretti home and a relationship begins.

The relationship quickly becomes sexual in nature but is cut short abruptly when Ciaran is arrested on suspicion of IRA membership. Almost immediately, however, Goretti finds that she is pregnant.
