Daytime Content Coordinator, Virgin Media Television

About the Role:

This is an exciting role at Virgin Media Television, reporting directly into the Head of Daytime, the Daytime Coordinator will be responsible for and coordinating multiple aspects and ensuring the smooth running of all daytime studio content. Administer rosters, co-ordinate editorial and commercial shoots and on location events, optimise resource management and identify opportunities for cross show support, schedule training, and identify and pre-empt operational challenges. Manage workflows and deliver solutions to improve overall cross functional team capacity.

Specific Duties & Tasks:

  • Manage live, pre/post and multi-platform production content across daytime TV programmes and maintain a smooth production schedule 
  • Manage and co-ordinate a pooled team of editors and co-ordinate production with digital content producers 
  • Support the Executive Producers and Creative Teams in project planning and execution
  • To produce schedules  for edits and audio sessions
  • Co-ordinate resource for shoots both editorial and commercial as and when required
  • To establish and maintain effective working relations with a wide range of internal and external contacts and stakeholders 
  • Monitor Budgets and liaise with Executive Producers to ensure compliance 
  • Report/Review production requests and costs to the Executive Producers
  • To schedule the workload effectively and seek solutions across production 
  • To act as a focal point of contact for the teams
  • Collate rosters and other relevant statistical data and keep cost and logistics spreadsheets
  • To maintain the organisation of the shared drive and ensure that all material received is filed correctly
  • To develop and maintain office and administrative systems 
  • A high level of production and planning ability is required both in terms of production workflow, budget management and allocations

Skills & Expertise: 

  • Experience working as a Production Co-ordinator within a Creative Services department
  • Experience of maintaining and updating budgets and high level admin co-ordination
  • Experience of setting up and attending film and digital format-based shoots
  • Experience of booking audio and edit suites / talent/ filming crew
  • Familiarity with broadcast standard equipment and post production procedures. 
  • Ability to prioritise a conflicting workload efficiently whilst  maintaining accuracy and attention to detail when working to deadlines
  • Ability to use proficiently a range of software packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP and the aptitude to learn new software packages where required
  • Experience of maintaining office systems and following administrative procedures, and of devising new systems where appropriate
  • The ability to handle confidential information with tact and sensitivity
  • Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective working relations with a wide range of internal and external contacts, and the ability to deal with contacts with tact and sensitivity
  • Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team
  • An interest in and enthusiasm for the VirginMedia Daytime TV schedule 
  • Experience of devising and refining detailed administrative procedures
  • Experience of managing location production shoots
