Setanta Transmissions provides transmission services for the eir sport 1, eir sport 2, Setanta Asia, Setanta EurAsia, Setanta Ukraine, Premier Sports, Premium Sports and FreeSports television channels. A vacancy has arisen for the position of Transmission Controller (TC).

Duties include:

• Operation of Automation Presentation Systems.
• Detailed meticulous checking of daily Playlist Schedules.
• Quality control of incoming live and file/taped programming.
• Recording incoming feeds to Video Servers.
• Vision mixing of live sports programming.
• Correct positioning of on-screen graphics.
• Timecode Logging of recorded programming.
• Audio and Video Monitoring to the highest standards.
• Providing timely feedback to Programming and Scheduling departments.

The successful candidate must be computer literate, numerate and have excellent attention to detail. At least one year’s experience in a related environment (e.g. MCR, Dubbing, Editing, etc) is essential. Knowledge and understanding of digital TV standards are desirable.

Additionally, it would be beneficial for any applicants to have a good knowledge of and passion for Sport.

As we broadcast some channels in Russian & Ukrainian Languages, it might be beneficial if candidates have a working knowledge of these languages.

Working hours will be shift-based and will include evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays. The successful candidate will need to be calm, flexible and have the ability to work well under pressure. They should have the capacity to quickly adapt to new systems and be methodical and fast at problem-solving.
