Media Manager

Role Details

The Media Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful technical delivery and archiving of inbound media.

Reporting to: Programming Manager & Operations Senior Manager

About the Role

• Responsibility for ensuring that video assets are organised, distributed and archived as planned.
• Distributing media to designated parties
• Managing the archive workflow, routinely backing up and deleting old media.
• Liaising with producers to ensure that asset management plans are understood and executed successfully.
• Maintain a healthy and robust Avid Interplay Media Database.
• Troubleshoot and work with engineers and producers to resolve technical and/or workflow issues; report maintenance and QC issues and develop potential improvements for the overall process.
• Embrace a quick-changing, high pressure environment with proficiency in both judging and responding to competing priorities.
• Help test new infrastructure and technologies that impact our workflow and end-user experience.

Essential Competencies

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Post or studio production environment.
• Good knowledge of Avid systems.
• Experience in a shared storage environment.
• Experience on non-linear workflows.
• Solid understanding of different file formats and codecs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to work flexible hours.
• Strong knowledge of archiving and best practices.

• Solid experience with Quality Control in relation to audio and video for transmission output.
