Rotoscope Artist

Windmill Lane Visual Effects is currently recruiting for a Rotoscope Artist for an exciting upcoming feature Project in Dublin.

Responsibilities:

• The Rotoscope artist works closely with the Compositors to integrate all layers and elements into a seamless visual effect shot.
• Assists the Compositors by creating articulated rotoscope and garbage mattes
• Tracking marker, wire, seam and rig removal
• Photo-real animated paint cleanup
• Remove rigs and wires using Nuke/Shake or Mocha and other Paint software
• Prepare plates for the Compositors by dust-busting and scratch removal

Experience and Skills Required:

• A working knowledge of Roto/Compositing package would be essential
• Experience in a studio setting
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
• A positive attitude, excellent communication skills and able to work well within a team under tight deadlines
• Maintain or exceed a consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high quality work
• Attend dailies and participate in creative problem solving
• Experience with Shotgun or similar

Abilities:

• A strong eye for detail and precision
• Able to take direction and feedback well from Compositors and Supervisors
• A good understanding of techniques and methods of roto and plate preparation
