TV3 require a Graduate Operations Technician
Reporting To: Head of Engineering
Duration: 12 months

About the Role:
TV3 is looking for a bright and enthusiastic graduate to join it’s busy Engineering team, to operate TV3’s broadcast equipment in Transmission, Ingest and Studio Operations. You will work within a dynamic multi-disciplined team, which delivers advanced technical solutions to ensure that programmes are broadcast on time and to the highest quality. As well as operating and maintaining the systems, you'll carry out updates and repairs. If you think you fit the bill, we’d love to hear from you!
Principal Duties:
Transmission:
- Preparation and sending programmes for transmission
- Operation of TV3 and 3e automated transmission system
- Loading, timing and checking transmission schedules, commercial spots and other interstitials onto the servers
- Ensure that the output of TV3 group’s channels is kept to the highest broadcast standards
Studio:
- Assistance with studio operation support where needed.
- Assistance with equipment configuration and repairs, frequently in an on-air environment with urgent timelines.
- A flexible approach to problem solving to help maintain studio operation
- Provide assistance to the technical department as required
Ingest:
- Co-ordination, recording, distribution and quality control of all incoming feeds relating to News Gathering and Programme Content
- Media Management of Avid assets
The Person:
- Good Aural and Visual judgement
- Comfortable working with broadcast and IT equipment
- Logical approach to problem solving and good attention to detail
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Ability to use their initiative, work on their own, and as part of a small team
Competencies Required:
- An excellent knowledge of audio and visual principles
- Knowledge of television production processes
- A knowledge of file based technologies used for delivery, viewing and storage.
- An operational knowledge of either production switching systems, audio consoles, studio camera operations or production technology and media systems
- An understanding of Health and Safety in a technical operational environment
