In-house Counsel required for Brown Bag Films animation studio, Smithfield, Dublin! 

This is a permanent contract, onsite in our Dublin studios.

About the role: 

This role offers an experienced in-house Counsel/Solicitor the opportunity to do something different in an exciting and growing arena. Whether you come from practice or have experience as an in-house Counsel, this role will offer the challenge of working with the Animation, Film, and Media industry in Ireland, and precisely what it means to work with major clients and partners of global repute while handling all legal requirements for our studio. You will get to work cross-functionally over areas such as development, production, post-production, and corporate affairs.

Key Responsibilities (The ideal profile of the successful candidate): 

  • Handles an abundant volume of work independently with multiple shifting priorities without losing key attention to detail. Strong experience with drafting contracts, GDPR, and the key soft skills to promote collaboration and partnership in-house will all be strongly valued in this role 
  • An individual who is a strong communicator who also appreciates the power of the face to face conversation 
  • A standout colleague, a hand that aims to support with utmost efficiency and planning. Keen to act as a key legal voice for the studio 
  • Friendly, hardworking individual with a ground-breaking attitude to establish relationships with staff and clients

Key Requirements (What we are looking for): 

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 2/3 years PQE, ideally working in intellectual property and corporate law in a reputable law firm or within Film/TV/Media industry environment 
  • Versatile and technically strong solicitor with a proven understanding of intellectual property law 
  • Proven commercial drafting experience, excellent attention to detail, and a forward-thinking teammate 
  • Capable of acting on own initiative, prioritising tasks, multitask, working to tight deadlines, and bringing transactions from start to completion 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in interacting directly with clients, international transaction experience is an advantage 
  • Committed to proactively improving the quality and standard of work. Advanced Microsoft Office skills 
  • Company secretarial and regulatory compliance experience will be an advantage
