Cork International Film Festival Board Members and Chairperson Recruitment
Cork International Film Festival is Ireland’s first and largest film festival, celebrating its 65th edition in November 2020.
We welcome applications to join our Board from enthusiastic individuals with a passion for the arts and with a keen interest in film as an art form. In particular, we welcome professionals with the following knowledge, skills or experience: legal, HR, not-for-profit governance, strategic planning and delivery, marketing and sponsorship, and film practitioners.

To formally apply for a Board position, please submit an application letter for the attention of our Chair, Helen Boyle, c/o the Chief Executive: Send Message, with the subject line ‘Board Member Application’. Your application should outline why you feel you would be a positive addition to the Cork International Film Festival Board. Please provide details of relevant experience, any service as a Board Director, Trustee or any other arts/voluntary/community organisation or any commercial organisation, together with your CV & provide two references.
We also welcome expressions of interest for the role of Chairperson.
CIFF - CHAIRPERSON ROLE DESCRIPTION
If you are applying for the role of Chair of the Board, please see the specific Chair role description and application requirements stated there. Following submission of your application, if Cork International Film Festival would like to take your application further, you will be contacted in the first instance by Board Chair Helen Boyle by telephone. You will then be invited to an interview.
Application Process (external and internal candidates)
Prospective candidates and existing Board Members who are interested in taking on the position of Chair are invited to send an application letter (in confidence) to fiona @ corkfilmfest.org by 5 pm on Friday 7th February 2020. Prospective candidates are asked to include the following information:
- Set out their approach to supporting and driving the vision of Cork International Film Festival, why they want to be Chairperson and what they believe they can bring to the organisation (Max 500 words or 1 A4 page)
- Send a CV together with a short biography suitable for publishing on Cork International Film Festival website, if successful. Please include details of any service as a Board Director, Trustee or any other arts/voluntary/community organisation or any commercial Organisation.
