One Productions is a busy production company operating in broadcast, film, corporate and web - and run a music channel at hearone.com. We are hiring for a full-time position for VIDEO SHOOTER AND EDITOR – i.e 1 role for a multiskilled operative.


You will be responsible for performing a number of tasks in a number of areas – all concerned with video production. These areas are as follows:

  • Video Shooting
  • Video Editing
  • Client Liason
  • Gear Maintenance

Types of projects 

You may work on a variety of productions including:

  • commercials
  • corporate video
  • promo video
  • narrative/script-based
  • music videos
  • educational and informational videos
  • television programmes

Video Shooting – Area Responsilities

Your work in video shooting will involve:

  • at least 2 years experience in shooting commercial/funded projects
  • experience of dealing with clients and comfortable in the role
  • planning and capturing all specified items on brief
  • knowledge & experience in use of video cameras, in house we have Sony FS7, BM Ursa mini Pro  and Panasonic GH series
  • knowledge of lighting techniques, staging and framing
  • knowledge of audio capture, microphone placement and audio mixing and camera input – including shotgun and lapel miking systems
  • Knowledge & familiarity with all ancillary video production equipment, to include lighting fixtures, grip equipment, lenses, video streaming equipment
  • Ability to capture pleasing and appropriate shots to cover given material

Video Editing - Area Responsibilities 

Your work as an editor will involve:

  • Knowledge of premiere pro workflow
  • Working with project director, or client account manager on best edit for project
  • Selecting appropriate music from music stock libraries to accompany the edit
  • Colour-grading the project if required to a level appropriate for the project
  • Inserting graphics or animations provided, or generating graphics or animations from brief or materials provided
  • Performing a sound mix on projects edited
  • Outputting the project in final delivery formats required
  • experimenting with styles and techniques including cutting styles, colour grading looks and the design of graphic elements;

Gear Maintenance – Area Responsibilities

Your work in gear maintenance will involve:

  • Full knowledge of all video production gear owned by the company
  • Working knowledge of, or an ability to acquire sufficient working expertise in, additional video production gear which may be hired from time to time
  • Keeping all video production gear in good working order, performing physical and firmware maintenance when necessary
  • Ability to keep gear and gear-room organized and shoot-ready
  • Identify broken or out-dated gear with the abiiity to repair, send for repair, or specify replacement items
  • Maintain a good knowledge of industry developments and maintain a prioritized wishlist of items to be acquired when budget allows
  • Ability to demonstrate gear functioning to inhouse or freelance operators
  • Maintain very brief how-to reference guides to accompany selected gear
  • Supervise and assist in selection of gear for shoots, maintaining a list of gear that leaves on a shoot
  • Checking gear on return from a shoot that all items have returned and are still in working order


You will need to show:

  • a keen eye for detail and a critical mind;
  • excellent camera and equipment skills and knowledge;
  • editing ability;
  • a high level of accuracy to meet an editing or shooting brief or client feedback without errors;
  • creativity and a passionate interest in video production;
  • you will need a full clean driving license.
  • patience and concentration;
  • flexibility and application to ensure projects are completed to deadline;
  • the ability to listen to others and to work well as part of a team;
  • a high level of initiative, self-motivation, commitment and dedication;
  • organisational and time management skills;
  • the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines;
  • communication skills, both written and oral.
