The upcoming installment in the Knives Out series, Wake Up Dead Man, has begun filming just outside of London. The film sees Irish actors Andrew Scott and Daryl McCormack join an ensemble that includes Daniel Craig and Josh Brolin.
Production has begun on Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, starring Daryl McCormack (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) and Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers). They join an ensemble of actors including Josh O’Connor (Challengers), Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla), Kerry Washington (Scandal), Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker), Mila Kunis (Black Swan), Josh Brolin (Avengers: Endgame), Glenn Close (Fatal Attraction), and Thomas Haden Church (Sideways).
Plot details of Wake Up Dead Man are yet to be revealed, but director Rian Johnson has teased that it is Benoit Blanc’s “most dangerous case yet". Daniel Craig will return to play Private Detective Blanc, following previous films Knives Out and Glass Onion.
Writer-director Rian Johnson announced the beginning of production via his social media:
Wake Up Dead Man marks the first time that Irish actors Scott and McCormack will share the screen together. McCormack was nominated for the IFTA Rising Star award in 2023, and has been IFTA-nominated for his performances in Bad Sisters, The Woman in the Wall, and Good Luck to You, Leo Grande. He can next be seen in Twisters, opposite Glen Powell (Hit Man) and Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People).
Scott is having a successful year on both the big and small screen, starring in Netflix original series Ripley as the titular character to critical acclaim, as well as receiving Actor of the Year at the London Critics’ Circle Awards, following his lead performance in All of Us Strangers opposite Paul Mescal.
Wake Up Dead Man is slated to release in 2025.
