Bodkin, which was filmed in Cork and throughout Ireland, is the 6th most-watched TV series on Netflix globally, reaching the Netflix Top 10 in 51 countries.
Bodkin is a dark comedic thriller led by Siobhan Cullen (Obituary, The Dry), Will Forte (Extra Ordinary), and Robyn Cara (Trying). The series features a large ensemble of Irish actors including Chris Walley (The Young Offenders) and David Wilmot (Lies We Tell).
The new Netflix series has had 7.3million views since launching on May 9th, and is the 6th most watched TV series on Netflix globally. The TV series, which was filmed in Cork, Wicklow, Dublin and Meath, features in the Netflix Top 10 English TV series in 51 countries, including Ireland, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the United States, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan.
Bodkin follows a motley crew of podcasters (Forte, Cullen, Cara) who set out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in a quaint, coastal Irish town. But once they start pulling at threads, they discover a story much bigger and weirder than they could have ever imagined.
Irish talent behind the camera includes director Paddy Breathnach (The Dry), DoPs Piers McGrail (Calm with Horses) and Cathal Watters (Handsome Devil), and IFTA Lifetime Achievement Award winner Joan Bergin (The Tudors).
The series was created by Jez Scharf. Scharf served as executive producer and co-showrunner with Alex Metcalf. Other executive producers include Barack and Michelle Obama. Bodkin is a Higher Grounds Production, a new production company founded by the Obamas.
Irish locations that can be seen in the series include Union Hall Village, Drumadoon Pier, Poulgorm Bridge and Glandore in West Cork, Ardmore Studios, Belmont Demesne, Carnegie Library - Enniskerry, Sallygap and Travelahawk Beach in Wicklow, Fenian Street, Howth Village, Howth Castle and Leopardstown Racecourse in Dublin, and Dave’s Diner in Julianstown, County Meath.
