Screen Ireland has announced the call for applications to the Screen Stakeholders Funding Scheme, which enables Irish and international organisations to provide skills development opportunities and initiatives to the Irish screen sector.
The Screen Stakeholders Funding Scheme is open to Irish and international organisations and guilds that support the screen sector in Ireland and enables them to apply for funding to deliver skills related activities across a 6–12-month period. Successful applicants will be assigned a project manager/advisor from the Screen Ireland skills team to oversee the successful delivery of the funded projects.
Applicants can apply for a range of activities including courses, events, masterclasses, workshops, seminars, webinars, conferences, panel discussions, networking events, mentoring, shadowing, writers room opportunities, consultancy support, data gathering, research reports, and the provision of initiatives that support access to the screen sector.
Some notable projects funded from the 2023 round include: Storyhouse, a new screenwriting festival celebrating the art of storytelling for the screen and inclusive lab for emerging writers; X-Pollinator, a cross-disciplinary professional development and networking initiative for female, trans and non-binary talent; The WideShot Programme, a series of community-led filmmaking workshops aimed at young creatives from diverse backgrounds; IGNITE, a cross-border talent development collaboration for documentary filmmakers; the ACE Animation Special, a project-based workshop aimed at experienced producers developing and producing long-form/feature film animation production for international audiences, and more.
For the 2024 Stakeholders funding call, Screen Ireland would like applicants to address at least one of the following priority themes:
- Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
- Sustainability/Green Production
- Future Technology/Virtual Production/Games
- Sustainable Careers (including improving workplace culture, wellbeing and retention)
- Nationwide/Regional Development
- Careers in the Screen Industry for Young People and Transition Year Programmes
- Company/Business Development
- Creative IP and leveraging IP
- Irish Language
There will be one call for the Screen Stakeholders Funding Scheme in 2024.
The Scheme opens for applications via Screen Ireland's online application portal today, Monday, 8th April 2024.
The application deadline is Monday, 29th April 2024, 5pm.

Screen Stakeholders Funding Scheme Information Session
An online information session for the Screen Stakeholders Funding Scheme will take place on Tuesday, 16th April 2024, 3pm. Screen Ireland's skills development team will give an overview of the funding scheme, covering information about funding strands, eligibility criteria, application requirements, application process, contracting and payments, and more. Prospective Irish and international applicants for the 2024 funding round are advised to attend this session.
