Deadline Today: Screen Training Ireland Shadow Directing Opportunity on Vikings

Screen Training Ireland is seeking applications from directors interested in a one-day shadow directing opportunity on the drama production ‘Vikings’.

Four applicants will be chosen to participate. The dates of the shadowing are the 12th to the 15th of November inclusive and candidates will be assigned a day on one of these dates TBC.

Due to the nature of production, the opportunity will have a fluid form but the overall objective will be to provide participants with an introduction to working on a high-end TV drama set.

This shadowing opportunity is not open to entry-level talent.  There is a modest daily stipend provided for each of the participants to cover expenses.

Filming is in Ashford Studios, 7.30am – 6pm and participants will need their own transport.

Please note candidates who do not meet the essential requirements will not be considered, and only successful candidates will be contacted.

Participant Profile:

Essential Requirements:

  • Candidates must have directed at least one short film that has had an award-qualifying festival premiere, or TV broadcast. Candidates must have a director, assistant director, or DOP credit on at least two short films, and/or one feature film.
  • Candidates must be able to provide a link to an up-to-date showreel in their current director CV.
  • Candidates are expected to be self-starters, with a positive attitude, who have on-set experience and who recognise this role is to assist and shadow the director.
  • Candidates must have a current, clean driving licence and their own car.
