Creative Europe MEDIA Upcoming Funding Deadlines

There are several upcoming deadlines for funding which include Support for TV Programming, Distribution Selective Support and Distribution Support to Sales Agents, the details for which are summarised below.

Support for TV Programming 2017: Deadline Tuesday May 30th
Independent European production companies that are the majority producer of the work are eligible to apply for this funding, with an estimated €11.8 M available.

It is designed for the production of TV programmes involving the participation of at least three European broadcasters. Works can be ‘one-off’ or serialised and may include:

  • Dramas (minimum 90 minutes duration), including sequels, second or third seasons
  • Animations (minimum 24 minutes duration)
  • Creative TV documentaries (minimum 50 minutes duration)

Distribution Selective Support 2017: Deadline Wednesday June 14th
This funding supports Groups of a minimum of seven distributors coordinated by the Sales Agent for the release of non-national European films.

Projects will be selected in both a small and medium film category, where the first presents a film with a production budget below €3M and the second is equal to that amount or above.

Distribution Support to Sales Agent: Deadline June 16th
The MEDIA Sub-Programme offers financial support to European Sales Agents who can demonstrate a track record in the Sales of non-national European films. €20,000 is available to Sales Agents who fit the following criteria:

  • They were the appointed Sales Agent of at least 8 eligible European Films (of which at least 1 was non-national) with an agreement to sell the film in at least 10 MEDIA Sub-Programme participating countries.
  • For at least 3 of these films in at least 3 countries participating in the MEDIA Sub-Programme there was a theatrical release (outside the country of origin) as evidenced by Distributor declarations under the Cinema Automatic Scheme.
