Flight to Freedom follows the remarkable story of World War II RAF Navigator, Phil MaGrath, who survived a disastrous raid on his squadron at an airfield in Denmark. Out of 36 men only 13 survived. He was taken prisoner by the Germans and, despite horrific injuries, escaped over the Pyrenees and up through France to England and safety. The programme has an exciting climax that even Phil MaGrath himself could not have predicted.
