A humorous, feel good comedy about two old rogues, Jackie and Michael who attempt to ferret out the holder of the winning lotto ticket in their small village of Tullymore. They bestow great hospitality on the locals in the hope of having a little share in the wealth once the winner is found. Through a process of elimination they discover that Ned Devine must be the winner and they pay him a visit. However the lotto win proved a bit too much for Ned and they find him dead with the winning ticket in his hand.
That night, Jackie has a dream, in which Ned is trying to share his dinner, and deducts from this that Ned would have wanted him to keep the winnings. Michael is passed off as Ned when the lotto official comes to visit. The town gets wind of the scam, and they all confirm Michael's identity.
