Round 53 of Coimisiún na Meán's Sound and Vision open Round will open on 9th April for broadcasters and independent producers to support the production of culturally valuable broadcast content, including content in the Irish language. This round closes at noon on Thursday, 30th May 2024. It is envisaged that funding decisions will be available in August 2024.

The Fastnet Film Festival which will run in Schull West Cork from Wednesday the 22nd to Sunday the 26th of May 2024, is a major showcase for Irish and International short film production. It focuses on the craft of film and is held in high regard on a national and international level for many years now. The Festival in 2024 will screen hundreds of short films, 10 - 15 Feature length films and run a series of Seminars, Masterclasses and Workshops with industry experts covering all aspects of filmmaking. Fringe events include an Irish Language Day on Cape Clear, Live music, Book readings, Movie Quiz, Café viewing all over town and high quality free family entertainment for all.
