Dublin Oldschool DVD to Release Across Ireland and UK
25 Oct 2018 :
Emmet Kirwan & Dave Tynan on set.
Element Pictures Distribution has announced that Dublin Oldschool will release on DVD and demand on November 9th.

Originally a stage play, the Dublin-set feature film was adapted for screen by Emmet Kirwan and Dave Tynan. Tynan (Heartbreak, Just Sayin’) also directed the project with Kirwan in the lead role alongside Ian Lloyd Anderson (Love/Hate, Game of Thrones), Seána Kerslake (‘A Date for Mad Mary’, ‘Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope’) and Sarah Greene (‘Rosie’, ‘Rebellion’).

‘Dublin Oldschool’ tells the story of Jason, a wannabe DJ, on a drug- fuelled trip through the streets of Dublin as he stumbles from one session to another. Somewhere between the DJs, decks, and drug busts he stumbles across a familiar face from the past, his brother Daniel.

Daniel, an educated heroin addict, is living on the streets. The brothers haven’t seen or spoken to each other in years but over a lost weekend they reconnect and reminisce over raves, tunes and their troubled past. Two brothers living very different lives might have more in common than they think.

The film was produced by Mike Donnelly and Dave Leahy with Liam Ryan as associate producer, Rory Gilmartin serving as executive producer for Element Pictures and Lesley McKimm as executive producer for Screen Ireland. Production support for the project came from the Screen Ireland and Windmill Lane Pictures.

Dublin Oldschool will be available On Demand from platforms including iTunes, Virgin Media, SKY, Amazon, Google Play and Volta from November 9th in Ireland and November 11th in the UK. DVD stockists include Tower Records, Golden Discs, Tesco stores, Amazon, Easons and HMV and FOPP stores in the UK.
