Connie Nielsen and Dougray Scott Join Neasa Hardiman’s Irish Thriller Sea Fever
05 Oct 2018 :
Danish actor Connie Nielsen and Scottish actor Dougray Scott have joined the cast of Neasa Hardiman’s upcoming thriller ‘Sea Fever’.

Nielsen, who will lead the crew of a fishing trawler that are struggling to survive in a race against time when a mysterious parasite infests their water supply, will replace Toni Collette who became unavailable due to scheduling issues.  Dougray Scott (‘Enigma’, ‘Woman in White’) and Hermione Corfield (‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’) will join Nielson aboard the vessel in the film.

Other ensemble cast members include Ardalan Esmaili (‘Domino’, ‘The Charmer’), Jack Hickey (‘Penny Dreadful’, ‘Mary Shelley’), Olwen Fouéré (‘Mandy’, ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’), and introducing Elie Bouakaze.

Written and directed by Irish BAFTA Award winner Neasa Hardiman (‘Jessica Jones’, ‘Happy Valley’), ‘Sea Fever’ is a rich, claustrophobic story of risk and responsibility, unfolding on the wild Atlantic seas off Ireland’s west coast. The film began Principal photography at the end of September.

Epic Pictures will serve as executive producer alongside producers Brendan McCarthy and John McDonnell of Fantastic Films (‘Six Shooter’, ‘The Last Days On Mars’) and co-producers Belgian’s Frakas Productions, Sweden’s Bright Pictures and Scotland's Makar Productions.

‘Sea Fever’ is co-financed by Screen Ireland, RTÉ Television, Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, Film i Väst, Swedish Film Institute, Creative Scotland, Creative Europe, Creativity Capital, Wallimage, Avanpost Digital Cube, Belgian Tax Shelter, Casa Kafka Pictures, and Voo TV.

It was developed with the support of both the Creative Europe MEDIA programme and Screen Ireland and was also a participant at the Frontieres international co-production market.
