Donal Foreman’s documentary will screen at the festival in a unique double bill alongside his father, Arthur MacCraig’s 1978 documentary, ‘The Patriot Game.’
Looking at Northern Ireland's history through a personal lens, The Image You Missed is a deeply personal essay film analysing Foreman’s relationship with his father. The film takes a fascinating look at the complexity of filmmaking, family and politics by examining footage from Macaig’s famous political documentary, ‘The Patriot Game’.
The Open City Documentary Festival was set up in 2010, creating an open space in London to promote and present creative documentary and non-fiction filmmakers.
The festival takes place over six days in venues across Central London, and consists of international contemporary and retrospective non-fiction film, audio and cross media, as well as filmmaker Q&As, industry panels, workshops, networking and parties.
The eighth edition of the festival will take place September 4th – 9th, 2018.
Both Irish documentaries will be screened on September 8th at the festival and Donal Foreman will partake in a Q&A for his film and introduce The Patriot Game.
