Offaly County Council Arts Office issues invitation for proposals to filmmakers

Offaly Culture Night.
Offaly County Council Arts Office is seeking proposals from filmmakers and Production companies in respect of filming its Offaly Culture Night Film 2020.

This will be a pre-recorded film that will showcase Offaly’s artists and venues. There is a set budget for production.

What They Are Looking For:

Offaly Arts Office would like to showcase Offaly’s talented artists, musicians, dancers, actors, and poets through the medium of film. The Film will:

  • Be filmed on location throughout Offaly using Offaly’s venues as a backdrop.
  • Should highlight the amazing talents of our artists
  • Should present Offaly venues in an attractive and welcoming manner.
  • Should aim to have a broad appeal, light in mood, enjoyable and entertaining
  • Should be approximately 30 minutes in length

The film will be launched online through our social media channels on Culture Night - Friday, September 18th, 2020. They will require small extracts from the film for promotional purposes. In addition, the film will be used for the future promotion of the Arts in Offaly. Offaly County Council Arts Office will commission the artists and locations for the film and aid in the coordination of shooting.

The Successful Applicant Will:

  • Enter into a contract with Offaly County Council to deliver this project.
  • Be responsible for both working on their initiative and in consultation with Offaly County Council Arts Office and Offaly County Council Arts Events Coordinator
  • Provide a high-quality digital film that could be used for advertising or shown in cinema
  • Provide a digital film compatible with online streaming and social media.
  • Provide ten promotional clips of varying lengths (30 sec – 1.5min) for use on social media.
  • Provide ten promotional stills of high quality (300dpi)
  • Ensure all rights within the film have been secured.

Time Schedule:

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Begin recording in July 2020
  • Deliver ten promotional stills by early August 2020
  • Deliver a rough cut and ten promotional clips by mid-August 2020
  • Deliver finalised film with all other documents by end of August 2020

Quote & Budget:

The quote should be inclusive of all costs, fees, delivery, transport, expenses, post-production, and VAT. There is a maximum budget of €5000.00 (inclusive of VAT and all costs) available.

Submission of Quote:

Please submit the following by Friday 3rd July 2020 at Noon

  • A cover letter highlighting relevant experience /CV of the crew.
  • A detailed quote listing all costs and itemising VAT
  • Ideas and artistic vision are welcome
  • Two referees of previous clients who have commissioned work from you.
  • Links to recent work
