Sean Murray's 'Unquiet Graves' to Air on RT… One
16 Jul 2019 : News Desk
Unquiet Graves
The gripping documentary from Belfast based filmmaker Sean Murray will air on RT… One on Monday 29th July at 9.35pm

The feature documentary follows the story of the Glennane Gang who were allegedly involved in the murder of over 120 innocent civilians in Counties Tyrone, Armagh and across into the Irish Republic from 1972-1978. The Glenanne Gang included members of the RUC and UDR - one of whom, John Weir, detailed of a shocking plot ordered by British Intelligence to attack a Roman Catholic primary school.

Subsequent literature and investigative work has since unearthed the extent to which the British Government were involved. Years later, after the release of Anne Cadwallader’s best-selling book ‘Lethal Allies’ and copious amounts of work from human rights groups The Pat Finucane Centre (PFC) and Dublin-based Justice for the Forgotten (JFF), revelations of collusion between the British Government and the loyalist death squads are revealed.

Murray took to twitter to make the announcement, stating:

"I can now announce that Unquiet Graves will be screening on RTÉ 1 on Monday the 29th of July at 9.35pm. This is of immense importance to the 'Glenanne families' and is a major milestone on the road to justice. The Time for Truth is now."

Murray also wrote and directed the documentary, whilst Oscar-nominated Northern Irish actor Stephen Rea (The Crying Game) narrates the film. The feature screened earlier this year at a special pre-release premiere on February 21st in Belfast before its release across Northern Ireland.

IFTN journalist Nathan Griffin caught up with Sean earlier this year to discuss the documentary ahead of its release.
