Sunday night drama on RTÉ One delivered a stellar performance as an hour-long Fair City episode was watched by 539,000 (40% share) and much-anticipated new series Redwater debuted with 495,000 (38% share).
In tense scenes in Carrigstown last night, things took a turn for the worst for Emmet (Daithí Mac Suibhne) as he found himself in grave danger at the hands of Ciaran (Johnny Ward).
Meanwhile on Redwater, produced by the BBC in association with RTÉ, viewers discovered the identity of Kat Moon's long-lost son, revealing the first of many secrets the villagers would prefer to leave hidden. The series, also starring Shane Richie, Angeline Ball, Maria Doyle Kennedy, and Fionnula Flanagan, continues on RTÉ One for the next five Sunday nights at 9.30pm.
RTÉ One has even more drama in store in the coming weeks.
Paula, a three-part thriller written by Conor McPherson starring Denise Gough and Owen McDonnell, and also produced by the BBC in association with RTÉ, debuts on RTÉ One on Wednesday 24 May at 9.35pm.
