Waterford Film Festival announces the line-up for this year’s programme, which will take place between Friday 4th and Sunday 6th November.
This year marks the 10th edition of the Waterford Film Festival and Garter Lane Arts Centre will again host the event this November in their state of the art cinema with Dolby Surround Sound.
The festival, which accepts films and scripts from national and international filmmakers, has seen a significant increase in submissions this year, with submissions rising by 35%. Organisers are describing this year as the most highly contested competition to date.
There is an exciting programme of short films from local and international filmmakers. The festival showcases a series of short films of different genres, from dramas, thrillers, comedies to engaging documentaries.
Films with a Waterford connection include ‘An Bean Sidhe,’ directed by Paul Lynch, ‘1916 An Bheirt ón Rinn,’ made by Sisters Rose Ann and Catherine Foley, ‘Sisters,’ directed by Sean Corcoran.
Along with Alan Flynn‘s, ‘The Empty Chair,’ John White’s, ‘Blackbird,’ and Ian Hunt Duffy's ‘Gridlock,’ starring Moe Dunford.
Screenwriter Mary Kate O’Flanagan will be holding a masterclass on writing the short film on Saturday, 5th November at 2pm.
