Colm Mac Con Iomaire is a founder member of Irish bands Kнla and The Frames. He has been an integral member of the Frames since 1990. 

The Frames have recorded 8 studio Albums and have toured the world many times over.

He has recorded and toured also with The Swell Season - the band that came with the Oscar win of Glen Hansard (Once).

Colm is a gifted multi-instrumentalist - his primary instrument is a 5 -String Cither Viol.
He has in recent years being devoting more time to his own first love which is writing instrumental music. 

In 2008 he released his much anticipated and unique instrumental debut 'The Hare's Corner'. 
It received rave reviews and music from it has been used extensively in many TV programmes and commercials in Ireland and abroad. 
'Cinematic' is a recurring phrase in any summary of Colm's music.

He is often asked to score string parts for artists various and has recorded with both David Gray and Damien Rice.

In 2010 he scored the IFTA award winning TV series Corp+Anam. 

Film has become a natural next step for Colm. He has finally taken everyone's advice and is devoting more and more time to worthy film projects.

He has just finished scoring a new 6 part series for TG4 'Cladaigh na nGael' which will be shown this autumn and is currently working on music for a feature film ('Wild') which will be filmed this summer in Ireland.

Currently living in Wexford. 
Writing a new solo instrumental album.
Working on a soundtrack for a new feature film currently in production in Ireland. Playing some international shows in June and September with Glen Hansard.

Training: Colm started playing the violin aged 6.. He Studied classical and traditional music until his late teens and then ran away with the musical circus aged 19.
He is now 41 and is a talented player of most instruments. 

Gear: Colm has an arsenal of very fine instruments and microphones. He also works with a very fine engineer/producer called Karl Odlum who has all manner of bells and whistles.
