‘Other Voices’ is to begin principal photography of its tenth series on Wednesday 30th November in St.James’ Church, Dingle, Co. Kerry.
Performance highlights for the new season include big names like The Frames, The Coronas, Lisa Hannigan, James Vincent McMorrow, Mick Flannery, Cold Specks, Cherry Ghost with Jimi Goodwin of Doves, Fred and Ham Sandwich among others
The show is to be directed by Maurice Linnane (Foo Fighters; Everywhere but Home, U2; The Best of 1990-2000). Executive producer is Philip King (Bring It All Back Home, Other Voices) and producer is Tina Moran (Gabriel Byrne; Stories from Home, John McGahern; A Private World) of South Wind Blows productions. Production manager on the series is Rachel Towell.
Interviews for the series will be shot by Gerry McArthur, acoustic performances by Gerry McArthur (Jim Sheridan; Film and Family, Re-Made in the USA; How Brodre Became Brothers), Maurice Linnane and Ross O’Callaghan (Feirm Factor, Close Encounters with Keith Barry). The church performances will be shot using TVM outside broadcast unit with cameras operated by Joe O'Byrne, Tony Byrne, Francis Nic Ruaidhrí, Aidan Keys and Ross O'Callaghan. The series will be shot on HD Cam on HDV
Filming is scheduled to finish on Wednesday the 7th December with the series going to post in Sibeal Teo and EMC Post. Editor for the series is Eoin McDonagh (In Sunshine or In Shadow, A Kiss for Jed Wood). The series has been funded by the Department of Arts, Heritage & the Gaeltacht, Intune Networks, Fáilte Ireland, RTÉ and IMRO. It is expected to air on RTÉ Two in early 2012.
