Northern Irish actor Liam Neeson, whose wide range of credits include ‘Schindler’s List’, ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘Taken’ among many others, is the latest star to be added to Seth MacFarlane’s continuing growing cast for his upcoming comedy sequel ‘Ted 2’.
MacFarlane (‘Family Guy’, ‘Ted’) confirmed the news on Twitter, stating in his tweet that both Neeson and fellow confirmed cast member Morgan Freeman, had been on set to film this week.
MacFarlane is returning to helm, co-write the script and voice the title character. Box office hit ‘Ted’ previously followed the friendship between a middle-aged man (Mark Wahlberg – ‘The Fighter’, ‘Lone Survivor’) and his cursing, drinking, smoking teddy bear. Wahlberg will also be returning to the sequel.
Neeson, who stars in ‘A Walk Among Tombstones’ which is out in cinemas now, previously worked with MacFarlane on ‘A Million Ways to Die in the West.’ Another star of the latter movie, Amanda Seyfried, will also be part of the cast of ‘Ted 2’. The ‘Mamma Mia’ and ‘Les Miserables’ star will play the female lead.
‘Ted 2’ is scheduled to be released in Ireland on 10th July 2015.
