Over 1 million tune-in to closing moments of RTÉ2's coverage of the 2019 All Ireland Final
02 Sep 2019 : News Desk
All-Ireland Final
RTÉ has revealed that it recorded a peak audience of 1,099,900 viewers who watched the Sunday Game Live on RTÉ2 as Kerry and Dublin closed-out Sunday’s pulsating All Ireland Football Final.

An average of 968,700 viewers tuned-in for the game, a share of 76.5% of those watching TV at the time. Additionally, there were a total of 161,000 streams on RTÉ Player.

Dublin’s “Drive for Five” during the 2019 All Ireland Championship has seen RTÉ viewing figures up across the board with Dublin’s clash with Mayo in the semi-final on August 10th, being watched by 697,000 viewers on RTÉ2 (63% share of viewing),  244,000 more than watched last year’s semi-final game between Dublin and Galway.

RTÉ Group Head of Sport, Declan McBennett said:

“RTÉ is delighted that such a large audience watched yesterday’s thrilling draw. Huge credit must go to both counties who will get to do it all again on Saturday week, live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.”

The Saturday Game Live on Saturday, 14th September will have full live coverage of the All Ireland Football Final replay on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.
