Sharon Horgan to Star in 'Military Wives' Film
06 Sep 2018 :
Sharon Horgan in 'Catastrophe'
The Irish actress and writer will star in the project opposite Kristin Scott Thomas (The Darkest Hour).

Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty) will direct the film, which is inspired by a BBC factual series about a choirmaster who forms a choir of wives and girlfriends of soldiers fighting abroad, to sing on a military base. The film sees unexpected friendships flourish, as the choir's solidarity helps them overcome their fears for loved ones in combat.

Horgan is involved in a number of different upcoming projects, including 'Women on The Verge', 'Happy AF', and an untitled comedy series from Amazon. Horgan is also working on the new series of 'Catastrophe' at present, for which she has won six IFTA Television Awards for writing and acting.

Speaking to Variety on the new project, Horgan commented, "I tried to talk them out of giving me this part because I can't really sing, but they just said 'Pierce Brosnan' and so here I am."

Shooting on ‘Military Wives’ will commence next month in the U.K.
