Crossing The Line Films Nominated for four Emmys
30 Jul 2018 :
'The Farthest' and 'Ireland's Wild Coast' have both received two nominations for the prestigious Awards.

Two documentaries produced by Crossing the Line are nominated in the 39th Annual News & Documentary Emmys, which take place on 1st October 2018.

Crossing the Line Films’ John Murray, told IFTN, "We're really thrilled to have been nominated for four Emmy awards and especially with two such different projects. The Emmys represent the pinnacle of television-making so it’s a real honour to see your work recognised in this way and it’s testament to the incredible talent and hard work of the production teams on both ‘Ireland’s Wild Coast’ and ‘The Farthest’.

‘The Farthest’ the documentary from Emer Reynolds, is nominated for Outstanding Science and Technology Documentary, and Outstanding Lighting Direction and Scenic Design.

The doc tells the story of the Voyager mission, sending two human-made objects out into our Solar System that are now entering the void of deep space – over 12 billion miles away. The doc won the Irish Academy’s Feature Documentary Award in February earlier this year.

Emer Reynolds, the director of The Farthest, told IFTN, "It’s an incredible and humbling honour to receive two Emmy nominations for THE FARTHEST. We are so happy for our whole wonderful and talented team, to be nominated for OUTSTANDING SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY DOCUMENTARY, and especially delighted for our brilliant cinematographer Kate McCullough, and fabulous Production Designer Joe Fallover, for their joint nomination for OUTSTANDING LIGHTING DIRECTION AND SCENIC DESIGN."

‘The Farthest’ is written and directed by Emer Reynolds, produced by John Murray (Crossing the Line) & Clare Stronge, and edited by Tony Cranstoun. The score is by Ray Harman, Visual Effects are by Ian Benjamin Kenny and Enda O’Connor, and the cinematographer is Kate McCullough.

In ‘Ireland’s Wild Coast’, Emmy Award-winning wildlife cameraman Colin Stafford-Johnson explores the wild animals and wild places of Ireland's rugged Atlantic coast. From the southwest corner of the island to the tip of Northern Ireland, Stafford-Johnson provides his own personal insights into the place he calls home and its wild animals, including humpback whales, eagles, salmon and red deer stags.

'Ireland's Wild Coast' is directed by John Murray and Cepa Giblin, produced by John Murray; Principal Photography Domenico Pontillo (for which he won the IFTA TV Award in May this year) and John Murray; Edited by Jamie Fitzpatrick (Ep 1) & James Dalton (Ep 2)

‘Ireland’s Wild Coast’ is nominated for Outstanding Nature Documentary and for Outstanding Cinematography: Documentary.
