Saturday Night Live Set for Irish Takeover on Dec. 2nd
21 Nov 2017 : Nathan Griffin
The Saturday Night Live (SNL) set is preparing for an Irish takeover on December 2nd with Saoirse Ronan set to host the show while U2 will feature as the musical guests.

It will be Ronan’s first time hosting SNL and comes as the Oscar buzz surrounding her performance in ‘Ladybird’ continues to build steam.

U2 on the other hand have hosted Saturday Night Live on three previous occasions – in 2002, 2004, and 2009. The appearance will also come the day after the release of their highly anticipated new album ‘Songs of Experience’, which is set to debut on December 1st and features collaborations with artists such as Kendrick Lamar.

‘Lady Bird’ isn’t due for release in Ireland until February 16th, 2018 but early reports suggest that Ronan is a strong favourite for what would be her 3rd Oscar nomination at the age of 23.
