The upcoming thriller Hallow Road, starring Rosamund Pike and Matthew Rhys, is shooting in Wicklow and Prague. The film also stars Irish actor Megan McDonnell.
Directed by Babak Anvari (Under the Shadow) from a script by William Gillies, Hallow Road is currently in production in Ireland and the Czech Republic. The upcoming thriller began shooting in Greystones, County Wicklow earlier this month, and has since continued production in Prague.
Hallow Road follows two parents who receive a distressing late-night phone call from their daughter after she caused a tragic car accident. The film stars Rosamund Pike (Saltburn) and Matthew Rhys (The Americans) as the parents, and Irish actor Megan McDonnell (Normal People) as their daughter, Alice.
XYZ Films and Screen Ireland are co-financing the film. Hallow Road was commissioned and developed by UK-based production company London Film & TV. Two & Two Pictures’ Lucan Toh is producing alongside Ian Henry (London Film & TV) and Richard Bolger (Hail Mary Pictures).
“Ireland has great locations, world-class crew, and we received unbelievable support from Screen Irland who moved incredibly quickly to support us and without whom we would not have been able to get into production this year,” said producer Ian Henry, of shooting in Ireland.
Lead actor Pike can currently be seen in cinemas in Saltburn, acting alongside Irish talent Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin) and Alison Oliver (Conversations with Friends).
