West Coast Casting is looking for extras for a new Irish language feature film called ‘Finky’ that will be filming in Galway and Glasgow during November and December.
‘Finky’ tells the mind-bending story of Micí Phincí – a musician and puppeteer from the West of Ireland who embarks on a twisted odyssey with the Carnival of Chaos over the rainbow and through the darker side of life. It’s a feverish and frenetic opera of the street, fuelled by heavy metal, accordions, adrenalin, and ether.
Speaking about what the Production is looking for, Casting Director Mairead Campbell told IFTN:
"We are looking to recruit a rogue’s gallery of Ireland’s Finest Outcasts to populate our world of heavy metal clubs, mad-houses, and carnivalesqe freak shows. Fire-breathers and snake-eaters, sword-swallowers and chainsaw-jugglers, drummers, mummers, and head-bangers wanted..."
People with fluent Irish, Scottish accents and musicians are particularly sought after for this project.
Applicants are encouraged to submit videos/showreels of their special skills, talents and looks to have a chance to become a part of the carnival of chaos.
Email westcoastcastingireland@gmail.com to apply, with the work "Chaos" in the subject header.
‘Finky’ is one of two Irish language feature films being produced under Screen Ireland’s new Cine4 funding scheme.
