Biography
Pauline played the terminally Mary opposite Pat Short in the IFTA 2017 nominated drama Smalltown written & directed by Gerard Barrett (Glassland, Pilgrim Hill, Brain on Fire) Other screen credits include Reflections, Staccato, Blackout, Selling Silence, Shot and The Consultant, Slices and There’s Something About Patrick.
Internationally trained in New York, London & Ireland Pauline has over 20 years experience in the industry. Having completed a fulltime 3 year Performing Arts degree at the Herbert Berghoff Studio in New York and studying directly with both with UTA HAGEN (author of Respect for Acting & A Challenge to the Actor) and Alice Spivak (Acting coach and author of How To Rehearse When There Is No Rehearsal – Acting & The Media) Pauline went on to perform both on and off Broadway before moving to London where she received double Honours Gold Medals for ‘Acting’ and ‘Speaking of Verse & Prose’ and her AlAM Diploma from LAMDA. Training in Ireland includes the Irish Film Academy, where she now teaches, Dawson Dramaworks, numerous workshops at Bow Street and ongoing Meisner/Adler/Strasberg training with Tom Kibbe, UCC.
Pauline has performed with actors such as Gretta Scacchi, Gerry O’Brien, Wendy Craig, Graham McTavish, Ger Ryan, Elizabeth Dermot Walsh, Charlie Kelly, Bill Buckhurst, Jack Lynch and worked with directors such as Gerard Barrett, Maria Aitken, Nona Shepphard, William Galinsky, Gwenda Hughes, Michael Hunt, Uta Hagen, Carol Goodhart and Pat Talbot to name but a few. Her theatrical credits include: The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Love me Slender, Easy Virtue, Lovers, Pygmalion, Philadelphia Story, Riders to the Sea, A Doll’s House, Goldfish in the Sun, Life Behind The Venue, Graffiti Theatre’s as gaeilge production Dorchadas Draíochta and the solo play You Have IT All Backwards. She won Best Actress, for her stage portrayal of the illiterate Paula in Dear Sister Anne and Wallpaper, in which she played a leading role, won Best Production at the Cork Arts Theatre Writer’s Week 2013.
