Nora-Jane Noone made her professional movie debut playing the leading role of Bernadette in Peter Mullan’s film The Magdalene Sisters. The movie won Best Film (The Golden Lion Award) at the 2002 Venice Film Festival, and was nominated as Best British Picture at the BAFTAs that year.

Nora-Jane won The 2003 Jury Prize For Best Ensemble Cast At The British Independent Film Awards. She was also nominated for the Alfs British Independent Film Awards2002 For The Magdalene Sisters. She has been twice nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Irish Film And Television Awards firstly for her role as Holly in The Descent 2005 and also in 2010 for the role of Michelle in Savage.

Nora-Jane is currently performing in her theatrical debut ‘Mixed Marriage’ at the Finborough Theatre, which has been met with great review. ‘Mixed Marriage’ is Directed by Sam Yates and starring Daragh O’Malley, Fiona Victory, Christopher Brandon, Damien Hannaway and Joel Ormsby.

Nora-Jane has recently finished filming an episode for the third Series of GARROWS LAW for the BBC alongside Hugh O’Conor and Ruairi Conroy. She plays the role of Garda Kate Nonnan in the on-going series Jack Taylor based on the series of crime novels by Ken Bruen, starring Iain Glen as Jack. The Series is Directed by Stuart Orme. Nora-Jane played the role of Caithlin in The Runaway for Sky One, broadcast this year (March 2011). The six part series is based on a Novel by Martina Cole with performances by Alan Cumming, Ken Stott, Keith Allen, Jack O’Connell and Burn Gorman.

Nora-Jane’s other work in Feature Films includes; the recently completed January directed by Adam Levins, starring Amy Mason, James Cosmo, Eileen Nicholas, Craig Conway, James Lance and Simon Quaterman, Savage with Darren Healy directed by Brendan Muldowney, The Celador feature The Descent directed by Neil Marshall & The Descent 2 Directed by Jon Harris, Doomsday with Bob Hoskins and Adrian Lester Directed by Neil Marshall. She played Juliet Van Der Bexton in Tony Herbert’s film SPEED DATING and appeared in the Miramax feature Ella Enchanted.

Other work includes Small Change written and Directed by Cathy Brady which was part of this years Official Sundance Selection and won the IFTA For BEST SHORT 2011. Other shorts include NEWS FOR THE CHURCH written and Directed by Andrew McCarthy, THROUGH THE NIGHT written and Directed by Lee Cronin, Stranded written and Directed by Martin Malone, The Listener written and Directed by Michael Chang, Beyond The Rave for Hammer Horror with Jamie Dornan directed by Matthias Hoene.

Nora-Jane’s previous TV work includes Lucy In BBCs The Day Of The Triffids for the BBC Directed by Nick Copus starring Dougray Scot, Joely Richardson, Brian Cox, Vanessa Redgrave, Eddie Izzard and Jason Priestley. Tessa in Afterlife for ITV directed by Charles Beeson, Darryl in Holby City, directed by Richard Platt and she played the part of Louise in Granada TV’s Coronation Street. Nora-Jane’s Voice work includes the role of Nora in Walking At Ringsend for BBC Radio 4 and Presenting The On-Line Carers Programme for Irelands Health Research Board (HRB).
